Following a sequence of teasers and the global unveiling of the compact SUV in mid-December, Kia has finally announced the prices for the much-anticipated facelifted Sonet in India. The model has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom, for the base-spec variant and goes all the way up to Rs 15.69 lakh, ex-showroom, for the top-of-the-line X-Line trim.The updated Sonet will offer a choice of 19 variants, including 5 options with diesel manual trims.
2024 Kia Sonet facelift: Exterior
The mid-cycle facelift for the compact SUV brings in a host of cosmetic changes, including a completely fresh front fascia. With a larger crown jewel LED headlight setup complemented by new L-shaped LED DRLs, the front of the sub-4-metre SUV has been revamped significantly. It also sports an all-new front bumper with redesigned skid plates and gets horizontally-mounted fog lamps.
Moving to the rear, the updated Sonet houses a LED light bar that connects the two C-shaped LED tail lamps. Additionally, it features a redesigned bumper and includes a roof-mounted spoiler. The SUV is outfitted with new dual-tone 16-inch alloy wheels.

2024 Kia Sonet facelift: Interiors and features
One of the most notable interior upgrades that the new Sonet gets is the introduction of a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster borrowed from its larger sibling, the Seltos. It gets the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system as before with a new small screen beneath it that displays climate control info, and some toggle controls. Additionally, Kia has revamped the upholstery for the seats in the SUV, thus giving it a more sophisticated feel inside.
Speaking of the features, one of the biggest changes is the introduction of Level 1 ADAS suite that gets features such as including Front Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), and Lane Following Assist (LFA). Standard across all trims are six airbags, hill-start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ESC. Higher trims come with additional features such as cornering lamps, a four-way powered driver’s seat, and a 360-degree camera with a blind-view monitor.
Furthermore, top-spec Sonets will maintain premium features including ventilated front seats, leatherette upholstery, a sunroof, and LED ambient lighting.
2024 Kia Sonet facelift: Powertrain
The Sonet facelift offers three engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 83hp, available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The second is a 120 hp turbo-petrol engine, and the third is the most powerful 1.5-litre diesel engine that belts out 116 hp. The turbo-petrol and diesel engines come with a 6-speed iMT, and the diesel variant now also has a 6-speed manual gearbox, which has been introduced due to customer demand.
