As Vogue editors, we often wax poetic on the latest runway must-haves, but not every item we gush about on this website ultimately ends up in our closets. Our discoveries are nice to behold—they’re lovely to look at and inspire fun conversation—however, of all the tempting things to buy, what did we actually end up purchasing? Each year we’ll highlight those special finds our editors welcomed into their lives—all the things that made us buyers rejoice.

My absolute favorite purchase of the year also happens to also be one of my most recents. Despite the fact that I haven’t owned it for very long, I’ve found every excuse to wear this gorgeous Savette evening bag. I also bought this J.Crew cashmere sweater in three colors over the course of the year, so it’s safe to say it is also a top contender (just be sure to size up for the perfect fit!) —Mai Morsch, editor

The Must-Have Sneaker Collab

Although I appreciate a good boot and love throwing on a heel every now and then, I’m a sneaker girl through and through. The day I finally got my hands on the Adidas x Wales Bonner silver sambas was a game-changing day for my wardrobe (and my sneaker collection). I tend to gravitate towards neutral items of clothing so the silver patent leather shoe became the perfect accent piece for a lot of my outfits this year. While metallics are definitely having a moment right now, I see myself loving and styling these sneakers for years to come. —Taylor Lashley, manager, social media

The Classic Tote

Bags are an investment for a reason. They are meant to be carefully chosen, as you want a style that’s just right for all of your needs—and that’s exactly what I found with Aesther Ekme’s Sac tote this year. I bought it a few months back as I was in dire need of the perfect carryall for the office and beyond, and I couldn’t be more obsessed. It has already been well-traveled, lugged around the city, carried my laptop, daily essentials—and then some—and it still holds up fabulously. —Clarissa Schmidt, shopping producer

Every year, I find myself investing in yet another pair of jeans; you truly can never have too many! Even more, my most-complimented accessory of the year was this pair of red boots from Vince Camuto. The Conversation-Starter Jacket and Headband

My favorite purchase this year has to be this Saks Potts leather moto jacket. It’s a head turner because every time I wear it people will always stop me to ask where my jacket is from. The only con is that it’s either too cold or too hot in New York most of the time so I can only wear it in October, November, April, and May really. Maybe this is a sign that I need the winter version- the Foxy coat for the colder months! I’ve also been loving pairing my leather looks with my Emi Jay headband for that ’90s Carolyn Bessette Kennedy look. —Irene Kim, production and editorialcoordinator, Vogue Runway

The Glorious Ruffles

I thought about this gorgeous Beaufille Vera blouse—which I’m wearing as I write this—for days before I decided I needed to have it. This gorgeous ruffly, semi-sheer number looks just as good with trousers as it does with jeans, and I’m excited to wear it everywhere from the office to a night out. I just watched Poor Things and this top is totally feeding my new ruffles obsession. —Hannah Jackson, fashion writer

This July, after months of saving, I finally splurged on a YSL Le 5 a 7 in raffia. Haven’t regretted it for a second—I wore it every single weekend for the rest of the summer, and every single day during a recent trip to Miami. Now, that’s a purchase girl-math approved. —Elise Taylor, senior living writer

Unprepared for the rain in Scandinavia this summer, I ran into the Henrik Vibskov boutique in Copenhagen and indulged in a trench. Not just any trench, mind you, this one, from the men’s department, has an oversize fit (on me) and has a gingham check lining that recalls picnics and sunny days ahead.—Laird Borrelli-Persson
