First, let’s compare the variants and pricing. The Toyota Rumion is available in six variants – S, S AT, G, V, V AT, and S CNG and the price starts from Rs 10.29 lakh and goes up to 13.68 lakh (ex-showroom). The Carens is offered in Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, Luxury Plus and X-line. The price for the MPV starts from Rs 10.45 lakh and goes up to 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom).

Comparing the dimensions, the Rumion measures 4420 mm in length, 1735 mm in width, 1690 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2740 mm. The Carens measures 4540 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, 1708 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2780 mm. The Rumion gets 15-inch alloy wheels whereas the Carens feature bigger 16-inch alloy wheels.

Moving inside, the Rumion gets a dual-tone black and beige dashboard finish with a faux wood insert. Features include a 7.0-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic AC, analogue instrument cluster with a digital MID, connected car technology, four airbags, ESC, projector headlights and much more. Talking about the power train and gearbox, the Kia Carens gets multiple engine and gearbox options. It gets three engine options – a 1.5-litre turbo diesel, a 1.5-litre NA petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol. Gearbox options include a DCT, iMT and torque converter automatic.
The Toyota Rumion gets a single engine option – a 1.5-litre NA petrol which puts out 103hp of power and 137Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic.
