Russian woman killed in shelling by Ukraine in Kursk village

NEW DELHI: A woman lost her life due to the shelling of the village of Kulbaki in Kursk by Ukraine on Sunday, the governor of the Russian region bordering Ukraine said. Additionally, her husband sustained severe injuries in the incident.
“A residential building caught fire and a local female resident died,” Governor Roman Starovoit said on the Telegram messaging app.”Her husband suffered extensive burns.”
Another residence in the village suffered damage, resulting in certain areas being deprived of electricity supply.
There was no prompt response from Ukraine regaring the incident, meanwhile
Explosions and assaults targeting Russian regions adjacent to Ukraine have become commonplace since Russia initiated its conflict with Ukraine two years ago. Russian authorities have consistently attributed these incidents to either Ukrainian military forces or pro-Ukrainian saboteurs.
Meanwhile Russia said that it destroyed 47 ukranian drones on Saturday over its southern regions overnight, mostly in the Rostov area bordering Ukraine. Kyiv has regularly launched drones into Russia during Moscow’s military offensive in Ukraine, now in its third year.
“Air defence systems on duty intercepted and destroyed over the territories of Belgorod region (one drone), Kursk region (two drones), Volgograd region (three drones) and Rostov region (41 drones),” the Russian army said on social media.
