Google CEO Sundar Pichai Interview: In today’s time, there are multiple powerful positions across the world, that are headed by Indian-origin personalities and one of the biggest examples of this is Sundar Pichai, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Google. Living in the United States, Sundar Pichai is very well-connected to his roots and has not forgotten his Indian values. Recently, in a podcast with YouTuber Varun Mayya, Sundar Pichai has spoken about various topics including the position of India in terms of artificial intelligence, his advice for Indian software engineers and his opinion on ‘wrapper startups’. The Google CEO has also revealed his favourite Indian food and has also made a reference to Rajkumar Hirani’s film ‘3 Idiots’ starring Aamir Khan.
Sundar Pichai Reveals Favourite Indian Food
As mentioned earlier, Google CEO Sundar Pichai spoke in the podcast of YouTuber Varun Mayya. In the podcast, when Pichai was asked about his favourite food in India, like most Indians, he too could not pick just one food item and chose the specialities from three different cities of India, He said, “When it’s Bangalore, I will probably get a dosa. It’s my favourite food. If it’s Delhi, chola bhatura. And if it’s Mumbai, I’ll do a pav bhaji.”
Google CEO Makes A ‘3 Idiots’ Reference
During the podcast, the Google CEO also made a reference to the film ‘3 Idiots’ directed by Rajkumar Hirani, starring Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan in pivotal roles. While discussing the kind of candidates that are good for Google and other such big companies, he mentioned that it is not rote learning that is impressive but actually understanding things is preferred.
Referring to a scene from ‘3 Idiots’, Sundar Pichai said, “”I was almost tempted to go back to the movie 3 Idiots or something like that. And like, there’s a scene in there when they ask Aamir Khan the definition of motor. And there’s a version that describes what a motor is. And there’s a version where you actually understand what a motor is.”
