The rider suffered head, arm and leg injuries and was in and out of consciousness after being sent flying across Forest Rd in Peakhurst.

“We heard the impact and looking over, I saw a shape going through the air quite low to the ground,” witness Pat Brady told 7NEWS.

Investigators say the men almost collided at Hurstville a few minutes earlier and they argued before getting into a scuffle.

The driver, 53, then allegedly chased the motorbike rider three kilometres to Peakhurst where the younger man was mowed down.

“We’re investigating a deliberate act on the part of the 53-year-old,” NSW Police Assistant Commissioner Brett McFadden said.

Residents including Brady rushed to help, alongside an off-duty paramedic.

The rider was taken to hospital and the driver underwent roadside testing, returning a negative result.

No charges have been laid.
