Kiran Rao is all set to return to the big screen after a long hiatus after 13 years with the comedy-drama ‘Laapataa Ladies‘, which is produced by ex-husband Aamir Khan.
In an interview with News18, Aamir shared that it’s a romantic story, According to him, romance is a bit uncommon at this age. The ‘Lagaan’ actor, however, feels that if he is suitable for the main character, then why wouldn’t he want to do it? He want to explore every genre.
When asked about working together after their divorce, Aamir quipped that ‘has a doctor said that when a divorce happens, you immediately become enemies?’ He considers himself fortunate that Kiran came into his life, and their journey has been very fulfilling.
Aamir mentioned that they have created a lot together, both personally and professionally, and they will continue to move forward together. He said they are connected on a human and emotional level, and they will always be.
Meanwhile, Kiran Rao’s ‘Laapataa Ladies’ is set against the backdrop of rural India, the film revolves around the story of two young brides who get exchanged on a train. It also stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in the lead roles.
The film will hit screens on March 1, 2024.
