ALDI supermarket has issued an urgent recall on a popular salad buy.

The Fresh Salad Co Thai Coconut Wild Rice Prepared Salad 500g has been pulled from shelves.

This item has been available for sale at ALDI stores in NSW, ACT, QLD, VIC and SA.

The recalled salads have the following best before markings:

  • Use By 03-Jul-2022
  • Use By 04-Jul-2022
  • Use By 05-Jul-2022
  • Use By 06-Jul-2022
  • Use By 07-Jul-2022
  • Use By 08-Jul-2022
  • Use By 09-Jul-2022

Food Standards Australia advises that the recall is due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (cashew).

Food safety hazard

“Any consumers who have a cashew allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” Food Standards Australia warns.

“Consumers who have a cashew allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return it to any ALDI store for a refund of the purchase price.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
