Best Picks Deputy Editor shares the five products she’s obsessed with as summer arrives

It has been humid on and off all week, with temperatures, at least on Australia’s east coast, set to soar over the weekend.

So while we battled with bouts of rain last week, I can finally see the end of the tunnel and I’m slowly (and carefully) picking up my beach towel in preparation for a long, hot summer.

I love that all of my favourite brands are dropping their limited edition Christmas sets, new fashion colourways and even jewels to pair with your December 25 outfit.

And don’t get me started on the food.

If there is a season to over eat it’s certainly during the holidays, and I won’t be depriving myself of anything as we celebrate well into new year.

So what’s on my hit list this season? See below.

1. Bondi Active Riptide Collection

If you haven’t see Bondi Active’s latest range, you’re missing out.

The good people who know sun, sand and surf better than anyone else have released a range that includes the “Aura”, a light pink and orange ombre set of bike shorts, crop top and long sleeve shirt.

It’s my favourite collection from Bondi Active to date, mainly for the colours, because the lightweight, sweat-wicking fabrics remain the same.

There are also a number of blue looks to choose from if you want to steer clear of pink.

So there is an option for just about anyone looking to sneak in a workout before Christmas or start the new year off on the right foot.

2. Sunday Supply Co Beach Chairs

I’ve always been a traditionalist at the beach with a towel to lie on but I’m now noticing more chairs hitting the sand.

In my native Bondi you can often see a crowd of parents huddling around a chair to avoid having to get sand on their wet or sunscreen-laden leg, and I think they’re onto something.

When I spied the new beach chairs from Aussie label Sunday Supply Co I was smitten — particularly with the Sun Valley and Summer Field varieties.

Not only are they cute as pie but the $169-a-pop chairs are made from a recycled premium fabric so they’ll last forever.

3. Pasticceria Papa Tartlets

Known for its delectable desserts and ultimate sweet treats, Pasticceria Papa is embracing the Christmas spirit this December in the form of tartlets.

Papa’s baked ricotta cheesecake is a mainstay for all major events in my life but these miniature sweets filled with pure joy might just notch it (for now).

Entertain your tastebuds with its selection of 12 irresistible tart flavours for $48 a box.

All products are available for pre-order (in-store or via phone) at all Papa’s stores from December 1 until 23. Last orders close at 12pm.

4. Arms of Eve ‘Summer Lovin’ collection

It’s one of my favourite jewellery brands of all time.

Arms of Eve, based in Sydney, has just launched its Summer Lovin’ collection with loads of necklaces, bracelets and earrings inspired by the hottest season of the year — and love.

“It speaks to the magical moments that allow for our hearts to run wild as we create moments to reminisce and cherish forever,” the brand said.

“With bold gold pieces, fun pops of bright colour and hypnotic heart charms, Summer Lovin’ makes hearts beat faster as we chase spontaneity and open our hearts to love.”

My favourite pieces include the Lover Gold and Pearl Earrings and Lev Gold Necklace — a match made in heaven.
