Best playmat for kids: Brand behind best-selling rugs launch super-soft washable playmats for babies and kids

While you might know the best-selling rug brand Miss Amara for its chic, washable styles, you might not think to turn to the Aussie brand when looking for a playmat.

But that will soon be a thing of the past, as the popular Aussie brand has now ventured into playmats for the first time.

Specially designed to be a super-soft, spongy landing for little feet, the playmats are available in six luxe designs that won’t look out of place in an otherwise stylish home.

Not only this, they have a velvety soft touch and satin-smooth finish that is perfect for both playtime and tummy time.

Even better: all the mats are washable.

Made from 100 per cent stain-resistant polyester and polyurethane foam, they are easy to clean and maintain no matter what kind of messy child you have.

The mats are available in both round and rectangle styles, in muted tones including beige, ivory and grey.

My pick from the new bunch is the Koa Ivory Plush Rollie Pollie Round Playmat ($449), which would look perfect either in a living room or a baby’s nursery.

But I also love the Una Beige Plush Rollie Pollie Playmat ($349), if you prefer something rectangular.

“I have learnt after all these years that children are the pickiest when it comes to texture and comfort underfoot, so having something lush and soft for their little feet is a must,” Alexandra Tanya-Weller told Best Picks.

“Our new rollie pollie designs are on the spongier, bouncy side, which makes them safe and enjoyable, especially as most of a parent’s time is spent on the ground playing.”

The rugs range in price from $349 to $449.
