Big Relief To Arvind Kejriwal Amid ED Raids

As mentioned earlier, AAP Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been given a huge relief from the Goa High Court amid the constant ED Summons and raids at his party leaders’ premises. The Goa High Court has cancelled the summons issued to Arvind Kejriwal by a lower court. The summons was about a case with respect to a speech delivered by Kejriwal during the 2017 Goa Election Campaign.

What Was The Summons Issued To Delhi CM By Goa Court?

The summons mentioned here was sent to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal by a court in Goa’s Mapusa in November, 2023. There were charges against him regarding violation of Section 123(1) of The Representation of the People Act and Sections 171B and 171E of the Indian Penal Code. The Goa AAP President Advocate Amir Palekar had called this case ‘purely political’ and in a TOI Report, he was quoted as saying, “This case is only meant to harass the party. I will represent Kejriwal on Wednesday and take steps to challenge this. These summons have come all of a sudden. We don’t fin cases of electoral offences filed against the BJP President.”
