The grisly discovery was made after Min’s estranged husband Steven Cho, aged in his 30s, was found at a townhouse on Watkins Rd in Baulkham Hills on Tuesday about 10.15am, following calls to police with concerns for his welfare.
7NEWS also understands the mother and son were stabbed inside a taekwondo school, but their bodies were located in a nearby alleyway.
Police are now probing whether the murder was the result of a love triangle, while a fourth man believed to be involved was seriously injured and was treated at Westmead Hospital, The Daily Telegraph reports.
Emergency services covered up the windows to the studio on Tuesday to prevent anyone from seeing inside.
The studio remains closed on Wednesday as forensics continue to comb through the crime scene for evidence
Police believe a knife may have been discarded inside a recycling business next door to the studio, but no weapon has been located at this stage.
NSW Police are investigating if the deaths are linked to a separate stabbing in North Parramatta on Monday.
The fourth man presented at Westmead Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening slash wounds on early on Tuesday morning.
He has since been arrested and is to be questioned further by police.
The Homicide Squad is investigating the incidents.
