Gogglebox star Isabelle Silbery reveals all about her separation

Gogglebox Australia star Isabelle Silbery has shared her feelings about the breakdown of her first marriage.

Silbery separated from her husband Craig Silbery, with whom she shares a son named Alex, in 2017.

The mum, known for her honesty when she appears on Gogglebox with her mum Kerry, has opened up on how she felt during the divorce.

“Now anyone who’s gone through it or is going through a separation knows how difficult it can be,” she told her Instagram audience in a video.

“Personally, I felt just riddled with constant anxiety and stress.”

Today the star is blissfully happy and expecting a baby girl with husband Alex Richard, whom she wed on February 21, 2022.

But back then, it was a very different situation. “I felt completely overwhelmed what I needed most back then was a one-stop shop where I could feel supported.

“I could have a clear plan on how to move forward.”

She went on to share the importance of reaching out to support services to help “navigate the emotional roller coaster”.

“We all at the end of the day, just want what’s best for our families,” she said.

Following her separation from her ex-husband in 2017, she wrote that she felt “tired, defeated, a shell of myself” in an open letter for Whimn.

“I was overwhelmed by grief for the life I had been investing in for seven years. I was a Mum to my toddler while helping my husband with his business, so who was I now?”

More than a year after marrying her second husband Alex Richards, she revealed on June 6 that she was pregnant, learning of the news just days before an appointment with a fertility specialist.

“It’s happening 👶🤍,” her post was captioned at the time.

“Just days before our appointment with a fertility specialist, this little one decided that the time was right for us now and we couldn’t be happier!”

She told Woman’s Day she was “shocked” to find out she was pregnant again after having miscarried before.

“I think when you’ve miscarried before, you don’t want to get too excited too early, so we just waited and kept as healthy as we could,” she explained.

“We’ve just done the big 3D scans and everything looks great.

“We’re so thrilled. Especially Alex – he’s wanted this forever.”

In 2021, Silbery opened up about her experience of pregnancy loss.

“I was pregnant and then I wasn’t,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.”

“Miscarriage is so hard … and after experiencing it myself recently and hearing the stories of other women and couples, I realise how common it is.

“I feel that it’s clearly not spoken about openly enough.

“It’s been a really rough time … the rollercoaster of getting my head around being a mother again and then suddenly having it taken away.

“I’m working my way through it and have had great support from my psychologist and my mates.”
