Gucci Touched Down During New York Fashion Week—and it Was the Party to Attend

Last night in Soho, Gucci feted the launch of its Ancora spring 2024 collection with a night of music, drinking, and dancing. A dazzling crowd of movie stars, musicians, and artists poured into the newly renovated Wooster Street store.

Actor Jessica Chastain, with her famous hair falling to one side, looked like a modern-day Veronica Lake in her dark gown. Actor and activist Elliot Page exuded classic sophistication in his shirt and tie. It-girl Iris Apatow sported a playful mini copper dress. Aurora James, designer of Brother Vellies and founder of The 15 Percent Pledge, circled the party with artist Mia Moretti. Elizabeth Sulcer, Rachel Zoe, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, and other leading stylists roamed the glittering event. The city’s resident beautiful boys—Deon Hinton, Tanner Reese, and Alexander Roth—preened in front of a jet-black step-and-repeat. No one New York Fashion Week celebration would be complete without Lauen Santo Domingo, Derek Blasberg, and Linda Fargo, who all came to support Sabato De Sarno’s vision for the 103-year-old brand.

Fittingly for mere days before Valentine’s Day, Romy reprised her hit “Loveher,” which served as the soundtrack to De Sarnos’ debut. Revelers danced to the electric, haunting tune and others by the rising star. Amber Valentine and Oza also turned track, and for three hours, the energy soared.

The party served as a reminder that the Gucci boutique, filled with art curated by Truls Blaasmo, brings Italy in all its grandeur and whimsy to Downtown Manhattan.
