Mumbai: In what could be called the best moment ahead of the brand new Indian Premier League season, Hardik Pandya walked up to Rohit Sharma and hugged him to bring an end to all the rumours about a rift existing between them. This happened on Wednesday evening just as the MI players got together in a huddle to get things started. When Hardik started approaching Rohit, the former MI captain smiled and the hug was warm and it is winning the internet. Ever since Rohit was removed as the MI captain and Hardik appointed as the new leader, there has been immense speculation, which is bound to happen given the fanbase the two Indian cricketers enjoy. Not a lot was clear, even a couple of days back Hardik was posed the question on Rohit, to which he gave a cryptic response, which did not make a lot of sense.
But now, with the hug, surely they have put all the rumours to rest at least for the time being. The spotlight would certainly be on the two cricketers as they would hold the fortunes of their side in the upcoming edition of the IPL.
Being the most successful franchises in the history of the league, pressure will be on Hardik to deliver. He has shown that he can be a natural leader when he led Gujarat Titans to the title in their IPL debut. And then, in the following year, they nearly defended their title successfully.
A week back Rohit led India to a phenomenal win over England in a five-match Test series. On the other hand, Hardik, who was at the NCA with his rehab, made a comeback in the DY Patil tournament.
