Hundreds of alleged offenders have been arrested amid a NSW Police crackdown on violent incidents across Sydney’s public transport network.
So far, 227 alleged offenders have been nabbed by a special taskforce, and accused over violent incidents on public transport, including attacks on patrons and staff, domestic violence incidents, and sexual assaults.

One arrest on Tuesday was made almost exactly a year after a 16-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly assaulted by a man and woman at a bus stop on Argyle St in Parramatta.
The girl was treated for multiple injuries, including a torn earlobe, at the time.
While the woman involved in the incident has already been dealt with by the courts, the 38-year-old man allegedly involved was extradited from Queensland to NSW as part of the blitz last Monday.
He was charged with assault, break and enter and domestic violence offences.
Two days later, a Castle Hill home was raided, and a 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly punching a bus driver in the face while he was driving in January.
The alleged offender fled the scene at the time, but was charged with common assault last Wednesday.
More than 400 charges laid
A man who allegedly assaulted a woman with an empty pram on a train in February was then charged with affray and common assault (DV) last Thursday.
That same day, a man who allegedly followed and groped a woman at Edmonson Park Station in January was also arrested and charged with sexually touching another person without consent and common assault.
Instances of passengers brandishing large knives on public transport, along with theft and other violent acts, were investigated, and 406 charges in total were laid as part of the crackdown that police said, “won’t be the last”.
Over 200 people were arrested within the month, with drugs and weapons — including a total of 23 knives — seized.
“We intend to use the full power of the NSW Police to continue to crack down on violent crimes across our public transport network,” Police Transport and Public Safety Command Assistant Commissioner Stephen Hegarty said.
“I am incredibly proud of the officers involved in this operation. They have made Sydney significantly safer and have brought some peace of mind to the many victims of these alleged offenders.”
