Kmart fans in frenzy over ‘super easy’ fly screen cleaning hack – using very unlikely buy

A Kmart fan has shared her very clever hack for cleaning filthy fly screens — using a very unlikely buy.

Sharing on a popular Facebook page, the shopper revealed how she uses the Kmart Spot Cleaner to make light work of the pesky cleaning task.

The $99 gadget is typically used to give dirty upholstery, rugs and carpets a new lease of life at a fraction of the cost of comparable products.

But in her post, the home owner said they can also be used on dirty and dusty fly screens.

“Spot cleaner hack!” she wrote on the Kmart Hacks & Decor Australia page.

“You can clean your fly screens! Just open the window so the water has somewhere to drip outside and go for it – I used the white bristle attachment.”

Images shared by the shopper shows how much dirty water the gadget collected while cleaning one fly screen – as well as the difference it made to another fly screen.

The Kmart fan’s post sparked an excited response from other social media users.

“So clever! I have some windows with mounted plantations that are in the window frame so I’d have to remove them to remove my fly screens,” said one. “Now I don’t have to!”

Added another: “This is usually such an annoying job, this looks like it would make it super easy.”

A third wrote: “I must try!”

One more responded: “I only got my hands on one of these spot cleaners on Sunday. It is fantastic! Love it. Now I’m on a mission to clean everything.”
