Maserati has shown off some more render imagery of its track-only special based on the MC20 supercar.

Known as Project24, Maserati is only going to produce 62 examples of this track weapon. Each will be custom-built by its Fuoriserie personalisation program.

This particular example is finished a dark blue exterior paint with a number of exposed carbon-fibre trim pieces. The previously-seen Project24 was painted with a two-tone white and blue finish.

As previously detailed, the Project24 is powered by a version of the 3.0-litre Nettuno twin-turbo V6 engine from the MC20 producing 552kW of power.

This is mated to a six-speed sequential transmission with power sent to the rear wheels.

There’s a limited-slip differential on the rear axle, and the car rides of 18-inch forged aluminium wheels with centre lock nuts. They’re wrapped in slick tyres, naturally.

Providing the stopping power are Brembo carbon-ceramic racing brakes with a bespoke brake cooling system.

Maserati claims the Project24 has a dry weight less than 1250kg, which is approximately 225kg lighter than the road-going MC20 coupe.

On the outside, the Project24 features all-new carbon bodywork designed by Centro Stile Maserati. The low nose and splitter are straight from the world of GT racing, the side air intakes are larger than on the MC20, and the rear is home to a large diffuser and rear wing.

There are also slim front LED lights, an FIA-approved rain light, as well as Lexan front and side windows.

Although Maserati hasn’t shown off any interior photos of the Project24 yet, it’s apparently stripped back with a FIA-homologated safety roll cage, racing seat with a six-point harness, adjustable pedal box, FIA-spec fire extinguisher, and a steering wheel wheel with a built-in display.

There is some level of comfort in the Project24 though, as air-conditioning comes as standard.

Optional extras include a passenger seat, rear-view camera, track telemetry recorder, in-car camera for video recording, and tyre pressure monitoring.

Customers of the Maserati Project24 will be treated to a “unique range of services, including track-specific experiences and state-of-the-art support”.

A number of brands offer similar service on their track-only weapons, allowing wealthy owners to push the limits with full factory support and driver training on hand.
