Mercedes Benz EQB EV, GLB India launch tomorrow: Expected price, features, specs

Mercedes Benz India is all set to launch the EQB electric and GLB ICE SUVs to the Indian market tomorrow. Both of these SUVs were unveiled recently and will be the 12th and the 13th SUV from the German carmaker.
The GLB and EQB are three-row seven-seater models. The all-electric EQB is the fourth electric model to the Indian market and Mercedes’ first seven-seater EV in India.

Both SUVs get a 10.25-inch floating MBUX infotainment system, powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, connected car tech, and smartphone connectivity. Safety features include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and ADAS features.

The EQB will be sold alongside the EQC, EQS and EQS AMG. The EQB is powered by an electric motor which produces 225 hp of maximum power and 390 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a 66.5 kWh battery pack which has a claimed range of 420 km. Mercedes claims that the EV has a top speed of 160 kmph and can hit zero to 100 kmph in around 8 seconds.

Mercedes says that the 66.5kWh battery takes 6 hours and 25 minutes to charge from 10% to 100% with an 11kW AC charger and around 32 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% with a 100kW DC charger.
Mercedes Benz is offering the EQB in two variants namely, 300 4 Matic and 350 4 Matic. We expect the EQB to have a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 65 lakh and the top variant could cost as much as Rs 75 lakh.

Talking about the GLB, the GLB will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine produces 163 hp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The 2.0-litre diesel engine is offered in two variants, one of them being the AMG Line. This produces 190 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque.
The GLB is offered in three variants namely, 200, 220d and 220d 4 Matic. We expect Mercedes to price this SUV starting from Rs 55 lakh.
