Mike Tyson suffers medical emergency on flight

Mike Tyson suffered a health scare just 30 minutes before landing while on a cross-country flight in the United States this week.

The 57-year-old boxing legend, who is returning to the ring in July, needed medical attention on board.

“Thankfully Mr Tyson is doing great,” his agents said in a statement.

“He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing.

“He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

Paramedics reportedly helped Tyson for about half an hour before passengers were allowed to leave the plane.

The flight had earlier faced a two-hour delay leaving Miami.

“It’s false reporting that his medical attention caused the flight delay. This delay was due to air conditioning issues on the aircraft,” his representatives said.

Tyson retired from professional boxing in 2005 and last fought in November 2020 against fellow former heavyweight champion Roy Jones Jr, then 51, in an exhibition.

But Tyson’s next fight has caused more controversy after it was sanctioned as a professional contest.

He will come up against Jake Paul, 27, in eight two-minute rounds.

Paul made his name as a YouTuber and turned to boxing in 2020, primarily fighting MMA champions.
