Moana 2 first look teaser makes waves as makers announce November 2024 release date – WATCH |

Disney pulled off a major surprise for all Moana fans as they announced the film’s sequel and release date along with a first-look teaser clip.
Originally slated for release as a web series, the news of a second feature film instalment to the 2016 animated blockbuster, sent fans into a frenzy. The studio unveiled a teaser clip, offering a glimpse of Moana sailing to new shores.
Going by the clip, the film may just pick up after the events of the first film that saw the young girl rise to lead her sea-fairing tribe to a safer island. While the clip did not feature a glimpse of Dwayne The Rock Johnson’s Maui, an enchanting still that was also released saw the Demigod on Moana’s boat, along with supporting characters of her pet pig and pet chicken watching a whale swim by.
The feature film will now hit theatres on November 27, 2024.
Disney CEO Bob Iger made the official announcement on Wednesday, stating, “Moana remains an incredibly popular franchise, and we can’t wait to give you more of Moana and Maui when Moana 2 comes to theatres this November.”

The movie promises to take audiences on an epic new voyage, introducing Moana, Maui, and a fresh crew of adventurers.
According to reports, the film will follow Moana on a perilous journey into the uncharted waters of Oceania, after she gets an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors.

While not officially confirmed, it’s strongly hinted that Auli’i Cravalho will reprise her role as Moana. Adding to the excitement, the sequel will feature new musical compositions from the talented duo of Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, alongside Opetaia Foa’i and Mark Mancina.
Meanwhile, Disney also has plans for a live-action adaptation of Moana, slated for release in 2025.
