What’s your essential summer purchase—and why do you love it?
The lip oil in soft mauve from Summer Fridays has made my makeup feel that much more seasonal. I’m a lipstick girl at heart, but adding the lip oil on top feels buttery to the touch and gives an effortless finish.
What’s a beauty product that everybody should get their hands on—and why?
Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen is my superpower item for long days of on-camera reporting in the summer sun. It’s invisible under my TV makeup, but protects me whether I’m going live in front of the California State Capitol or emceeing a nonprofit event in a gorgeous Christian Siriano pink tie-shoulder dress in 100-degree heat!
What’s a place you love to visit—and how do you spend your time there?
I love a Malibu beach day at El Matador. There’s nothing like leaning against the rock formations and watching the waves while curling up with a good book—or grabbing a breakfast burrito at Lily’s and a cappuccino at Caffe Luxxe! (I went to Pepperdine University, so visiting there takes me back!)
What’s the one summer shoe you can’t recommend enough?
My black Coach Mary Janes are in constant rotation—so much so that I have a prominent tan marking their absence when I’m not wearing them. I love the contrast between the vinyl tip of the shoe, the leather body, and the gold hardware—which goes with my statement gold earrings from Lele Sadoughi!
What’s one accessory you can’t do without—and why?
My Chloé cat-eye sunglasses are such a statement piece—they remind me of stained glass, and they go with absolutely everything, from a vintage lace Betsey Johnson dress in the season’s go-to blue to a chic Rosie Assoulin pinstripe button-up vest and trousers.
