An SUV sat in the parking lot of a Rexdale plaza, its windows riddled with bullet holes, after a deadly shooting Thursday afternoon.

Yvonne said she and her husband were inside the Wellness Physio office when the gunfire erupted in the 27 and Finch Plaza – located east of Hwy. 27 and Finch Ave. W. at Westmore Dr. – around 12:45 p.m.

“I heard at least eight shots,” she said at the scene. “We didn’t know what was happening.”
“It is very scary,” Yvonne added.

Toronto Police escorted the couple from the physio centre to an awaiting Wheel Trans TTC vehicle around 2:30 p.m.
In the aftermath of the shooting, a white Ford SUV with a Quebec licence plate could be seen resting on a median in the plaza with six closely grouped bullet holes in the front driver’s side window and a least another nine shots hit the driver’s side window.

In the middle of the parking lot, a huge cluster of yellow police evidence markers could be seen on the ground.
The entire parking lot was closed off with police tape.
An orange tarp was also draped over the passenger side window, which appeared to have been blow out by the gunfire.
However, a video that surfaced on the social media platform X showed a police officer trying to smash that window.
Initial reports received by police suggested the occupant, or occupants, of one vehicle opened fire on another vehicle.
Cops were looking for a vehicle described as a black two-door car that fled westbound on Finch Ave.
There have been many shootings in the city recently.
Two men – Rajiv Ralph, age 31 and Akim Fleming, 33 – were killed in a barrage of gunfire near Lawrence Ave. W. and Hickory Tree Rd., just west of Weston Rd., around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.

An hour earlier, around 3 a.m., three people were injured in a shooting outside of the Bisha hotel on Blue Jays Way – the same area where Dimarjo Jenkins, 21 (known as Houdini to the rap community) was shot dead in a gunbattle on May 26, 2020.
One of the wounded was a man in his 30s who suffered a gunshot to the leg. A woman in her 20s was shot in the finger. And another man in his 30s walked into a hospital later.
Less than two weeks ago, two innocent victims were shot at bus stops in a North York neighbourhood.
Adu Boakye, 39, of Ghana, was shot dead at Jane St. and Driftwood Ave. on Feb. 17.
And a 16-year-old boy was shot in the face and critically injured less than 24 hours earlier in the same area.
