Mark Lieberenz and Anthony Phillips have been appointed as administrators for the business.

The brewery is known for its craft beers, ciders, spirits and hard beverages, and has won awards for its beers.

It’s understood the company, founded in 2002, is expected to continue to trade while a solution is worked out with creditors.

“With the peak season coming to an end, we knew we were going to face further challenges,” Big Shed Brewing said.

Steven Brockman, from the Independent Brewers Association said a “perfect storm” has put a lot of “pressure on the industry”.

“Manufacturing costs have gone through the roof … the cost of ingredients has gone through the roof,” he told 7NEWS.

It comes as the craft beer industry continues to struggle nationally, with many operators going into administration recently.

Hawkers Beer, an independent brewing company based in Reservoir in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, entered voluntary administration on Monday.

The administrator was appointed to “help facilitate a financial restructuring of the business”.

“Post COVID has been a challenging period with bigger players increasingly restricting access to taps and shelf space, combined with broader economic pressures, including increased input costs and taxes,” founder and managing director Mazen Hajjar said.

“However, we are confident that the restructuring will ensure the business is in a stronger position to fight these challenges going forward.”
