He has lodged a complaint with Oshiwara police after he was tricked into transferring Rs 75000 to the scamsters. When contacted, Rakesh told ETimes, “I got saved from bigger loss but I want people to be aware of people who dupe in the name of the army.”
Rakesh apparently had received a call from man who claimed to be an Army personnel and showed interest in his Pune flat.The actor realised it little later that the man was a scamster. By then he had transferred about Rs 75000 to the man’s bank account.
“They often make these calls at nights. So even if one realizes he has been duped, it’s too late to file a complaint,” he added.

Rakesh said that he has shared all the details with the police including the man’s bank account number, photographs and transaction details. He said, ” The police told me these kind of cases are an old modus operandi. Thankfully I did not lose much of my money.”
Rakesh has had a prolific career spanning several decades and has also made significant contributions to Bollywood. One of his most memorable roles is that of Raja in the television series Ye Jo Hai Zindagi, which aired in the 1980s.
