Just the day the film released in theatres, Netflix had dropped a photo of Ranbir and hence people were sure that this would be the streaming platform. However, the official announcement regarding the streaming date hasn’t been made yet. A twitter handle dropped this news, saying that the film will release on Republic Day 2024.
The duration will be longer than the theatrical version which was 3 hours 21 minutes. Some scenes which were modified in the theatrical release will also be included in the OTT version. Sandeep Reddy Vanga had said in an interview with trade analyst Komal Nahta, “I was editing the version because there were some problems in 1-2 shots. I’m using different and a few more shots from the same take. One thing I felt was I should have left the 3 hours 30 minutes instead of 3 hours 21 minutes. I don’t know why I edited those 8-9 minutes. Now, I will be using those 5-6 minutes extra.”
‘Animal’ has proved to be Ranbir’s biggest opener till date, despite the flak that the film faced. Recently, during the success party of the movie, Ranbir finally broke silence on the criticism that it got. He said, “I want to thank all of you for being here today to celebrate Animal. It is a film that a section of people had an issue with but I feel the kind of love, success and the numbers (it has received) proves that nothing goes beyond the love for a movie. Nothing goes beyond movies.”
