Tata Curvv coupe SUV launch on August 7: Expected features, price and more

Homegrown Automaker Tata Motors recently revealed the much-anticipated production version of the Tata Curvv coupe SUV. The coupe was first showcased in April 2022 as an all-electric concept and then in its ICE form later in January 2023. The company will first launch the all-electric Curvv on August 7, 2023, and the petrol and diesel versions will be launched later.

Ahead of its launch, let’s take a look at its design, expected features, price and other details. In terms of features, the Curvv is expected to come packed with features such as a panoramic sunroof, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charger, connected car tech, ambient lighting, two-spoke steering wheel illuminated logo, leatherette upholstery, ventilated seats, voice assistance in multiple languages and much more.

In terms of safety, we can expect features such as multiple airbags, ESC, TCS, ISOFIX mounts, 360-degree camera, reverse parking sensors, blind spot monitor, all four disc brakes and much more. Considering Tata Motors’s history with a good safety rating, we also expect the Curvv to score 5 stars for both adult and child occupant protection.

The production-spec Curvv looks very similar to the concept version. It features a bold front end with an LED lightbar spanning across the width similar to what we’ve seen in the Nexon. It also gets a strong shoulder line with flared wheel arches which gives it a strong presence. At the sides, it gets flush door handles with a sloping roof line that blends into a short tail section. A few highlights include a rooftop-mounted spoiler, connected LED taillights, a diffuser and much more.

The Tata Curvv will initially be available as an all-electric model. It’s expected to be offered with two battery pack options with a claimed range of up to 500 km in one full charge. The ICE version is expected to be offered with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre, 4-cyl turbocharged diesel unit with manual and automatic transmission options.

The prices for the Tata Curvv.ev is expected to start from Rs 17 lakh and Rs 11 lakh for the ICE version. The Curvv EV will directly compete with the upcoming Creta EV, it will also go up against the MG ZS EV and Mahindra XUV 400. The Curvv ICE will directly compete with the upcoming Citroen Basalt. It will also go up against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.
