Vodafone and Optus Black Friday: Telcos slash 5G and 4G home internet plans, discount Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and Apple iPhone devices
Vodafone has launched its Black Friday deals for another year and its 4G and 5G home internet deals are impressive.
Starting from Wednesday, Australia’s third-biggest telco is discounting 4G and 5G home internet plans by half the regular price for the first 12 months of connection, and when combined with a mobile phone plan. This means that you can get unlimited data from $25 per month on the 4G network, and $40 per month if you’re in a Vodafone 5G coverage area.
The price of flagship devices from Apple and Samsung are also receiving a healthy discount with savings of up to $600.
“Not only are these some of the most competitive discounts we have ever launched for our mobile handsets, but these Home Internet offers could be the most competitive that Australia has ever seen,” Kieren Cooney, Vodafone’s Group Executive Consumer told 7NEWS.com.au in a statement.
“We are doing this to celebrate the recent launch of our new 5G and 4G Home Internet plans that are a game changer for Australian consumers, providing a fast, reliable alternative to the NBN along with incredible value.
“The Vodafone network is now the strongest it has ever been, and we are excited about bringing these benefits to our customers so that they can experience it for themselves.”

VODAFONE: Half-price home internet
Eligible customers can enjoy 4G and 5G home internet for half the regular price when connected for the first 12 months and combined with a mobile phone plan. The first month of the plan is free.
When it comes to 4G, the $25 per month deal includes unlimited data and speeds of up to 20Mbps. Those speeds won’t satisfy the needs of a family that has kids streaming around the clock, but it’s a great deal for those who may not need as much bandwidth.
Vodafone is also offering 5G plans from $35 per month for unlimited data that is capped to 100Mbps. You can also choose to get full-speed data, but that will set you back $40 per month for the first 12 months.
VODAFONE: Mobile phone deals
If you’re up for a new mobile phone, Vodafone is discounting Samsung’s S21 5G and S21 Ultra 5G handsets by $600 when you sign up to a Vodafone Infinite plan over 24 or 36 months.
It brings the cost of the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G (128GB model) down to $58.02, with 80GB of data per month over 36 months on the Infinite Lite+ plan.
There are other savings off the Galaxy Z Flip3 ($500 off), iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max ($400 off) and Moto G50 ($200 off).
Vodafone’s Infinite SIM Only month-to-month and Handset plans have also been discounted for Black Friday, with 80GB of monthly data for $40 per month, 200GB of monthly data for $50 per month, and 300GB of monthly data for $60 per month. The good news is that the discount and bonus data lasts for as long as you stay connected to the plan.
VODAFONE: Prepaid deals
Maybe you’re looking at buying a handset outright? There are some savings to be made on some decent handsets, such as TCL’s 20R 5G which is discounted to $239 (save $70) – making it the most affordable 5G smartphone in Australia right now.
Other handsets include OPPO, Motorola, Nokia and Alcatel.
